Fear, bullying, discrimination, and unsafe school environments are pushing too many students out of classrooms and off the path to graduation. For students from at-risk communities—including immigrant youth impacted by family separation, LGBTQ+ students, and Black and Brown students—chronic absenteeism has become a crisis with lifelong consequences.

SCHOOL PLAYGROUND was created in response to this reality.

Unlike traditional online education platforms, SCHOOL PLAYGROUND is designed specifically for students who cannot safely or consistently attend brick-and-mortar schools. Our secure, encrypted platform provides a welcoming virtual space where students can continue learning without fear—while remaining connected to caring adults and critical resources.

SCHOOL PLAYGROUND combines rigorous academics with comprehensive student support, including one-to-one tutoring and test preparation, mentorship, school counseling, and access to scholarships and financial resources for college. We recognize that academic success does not happen in isolation; it requires trust, safety, encouragement, and consistent support.

Our work is grounded in equity and informed by research, policy analysis, and collaboration with educators, community organizations, and advocates. By leveraging technology as a bridge—not a barrier—we aim to keep students engaged in school, reduce absenteeism, and dramatically increase high school completion rates.

We are building a new kind of playground—one where every student feels safe, supported, and seen, and where graduation is not a privilege, but a promise.
